salted, dark, and rich brownies (gf, df)

Ingredients

  •  1 cup (160g) 70% dark chocolate, roughly chopped

  •  1/2 cup (100g) coconut oil

  •  2 eggs

  •  2/3 cup (100g) of coconut sugar

  •  1/2 cup (50g) almond flour

  •  2/3 cup (80g) of raw pecans, roughly chopped

  •  1/3 cup (50g) chocolate chips or chunks

  •  a pinch of fleur de sel

  •  flaked sea salt, for finishing

 

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease a baking mold or line it with parchment paper. 

  2. Melt the dark chocolate (160g) with the coconut oil in a bain-marie, mix until well combined.  Set aside to cool.

  3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and coconut sugar.

  4. Slowly add the cooled down coconut oil/chocolate mixture to the egg/sugar mixture, stirring continuously.

  5. Fold in the almond flour and add a pinch of salt.  The mixture should be thick.

  6. Then fold in the chocolate chunks (50g) and chopped pecans. 

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared mold and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes.

  8. Once baked, remove from the oven and sprinkle the sea salt flakes on top for an extra burst of flavor.
